Beautiful building with lots of amazing details. I love the marble composition espeicailly. The art display here has wide range, and capture some of the most famous Romania artists. The flow between different spaces is not as smooth though.

Beautiful museum that contains many paintings of Italian, French, German and Flemish artists of the Modern era, such as Tintoretto, Brueghel, El Greco. The visit lasts about 45 minutes, the single ticket costs 24 RON (about 5€) otherwise the combined ticket with the National Art Gallery costs 32 RON. If had to choose just one museum between the two I would opt for this one.

Very nice museum and beautiful collection of paintings. I totally recommend it, also in combination with a visit to the National Museum of Art.
While looking at a painting, a staff member, a lady on the top floor, addressed me in a manner that I found intrusive and unwelcoming. She abruptly instructed me to "keep a distance from the painting" without any polite tone, even if I was not that close. This initial encounter left me feeling somewhat taken aback and uncomfortable. To my surprise, she followed me to other rooms. This persistent monitoring gave me the impression that I was being closely watched. It is worth noting that I did not witness this behavior directed at other visitors, which made me question... As a result, my overall enjoyment of the museum was significantly diminished. While I understand the importance of maintaining a reasonable distance from artwork, I believe that there are more tactful and respectful ways to communicate this information to visitors. That's why the 4 stars.

We visited the museum at the end of august and there was only one floor that could be accessed due to extremely hot weather; a few fans were scattered throughout but they could barely make a difference.

The very fact that they don't have the capacity to ensure a stable temperature in the building is mind-boggling! Forget about the visitors and employees feeling highly uncomfortable during summer/winter, those works of art are degrading year by year in that environment and no one is taking any measures!

Yes, the works of art are worth seeing and the personnel are polite and helpful. No, you will not find a café inside because apparently, the Minister of Culture didn't approve the plan for one. He must have visited plenty of art museums throughout Europe to find the very thought of it, a vile, anti-art one. Just like the thought of any investment in the heating system of the building housing not only European Art, but some of the most important Romanian exhibits as well.

All in all, I'd recommend visiting the museum for the interesting art it holds (of course, when the weather allows it), but I'd also recommend more people complaining about the contempt with which art and people who love it are treated by the responsible authorities.

A must visit for grand interiors lovers just to see the staircase!
They have a good selection of artworks but it's not as big as the Romanian Art Museum.
