This pair of large rooms is located on the second floor of Texas State's art building. There are several parking lots within a short distance, but it is easiest to come when class is not in session. I visited on a fall Saturday when the football team was playing elsewhere.

If you are not a student it's quite the ordeal to get to the gallery. It's a little small but had some nice works. The parking is a hot mess. I assumed the parking garage worked like any normal garage but this is not the case. When you enter you get your ticket, I found a space on the 3rd floor. It was a bit of a walk to the gallery. When I left I drove to the exit and only then did I realize you have to pay at a walk up kiosk and not at the exit. I had to turn around, there is no turn around spot so I literally had to back out my large suv and do a 4 point turn around, only to end up back on the 3rd level. I then had to walk down to the 1st, there are 5 kiosks only 3 work, paid then went BACK up to the 3rd level to leave. The most ridiculous parking I've ever dealt with. There are no signs or instructions printed on your ticket for this process. If you are a student already on campus this is a nice little gallery but if you're not, to me, it's just not worth the trouble to get to it.

We waited for the gallery to open at noon- my husband, two teen daughters and I. We struggled a bit to find it cause Google sent us down Comanche street. I called to ask where the gallery was located. The lady was very nice on the phone--she told us she was in the JC building, close to the rec. She told us there was no permit required, but to expect a fee to park and to pay at the station.
We entered and went up to the second floor. When we went in, she said the gallery was closed cause they were changing an exhibit.
We left without seeing any of the gallery--she said both sides were off limits. Very disappointed she didn't tell us while on the phone with me. She offered no apology or any expected time we could see the gallery.

A friend of mine recently had her artwork display here, very eclectic art exhibit, artists working with photography, paints, bone, metal, and acrylics. Spacing and credit to artist tagging could have been better designated and planned out better. But a good exhibit none the less.
