This statue of controversial historic figure Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658) is situated within the gated area of the House of Commons. However, you can see it fairly well from the roadside while passing by. It is the work of Hamo Thornycroft (1899) and features Cromwell standing with sword in his right hand and a bible in his left. At the base of the monument is a bronze lion. Worth a look-see if sightseeing and monument viewing in the area.

His statue is outside the Palace of Westminister facing towards Westminister Abbey. You can see it as you walk towards Big Ben to the right of that. It is behind an iron fence, so you will only be able to look from a short distance away. He is looking quite somber, probably reflecting on his actions when alive.

Surprised there is a statue knowing the history behind him. If you want to experience more about his life, go to Ely, UK. There you will find the house he lived and died in showcasing his life.

This is the statue you walk past on your way to enter The Palace of Westminster. There is a statue of Oliver Cromwell in my hometown, so it was interesting to see this statue.

This is the first time I came here, very interesting architecture. Lots to see, there is also a nice park here just beside the building and also toilets are available in the park.
I was amazed at how intricate some of these designs were, and wondered what the motivation behind creating such beautiful architecture, while If you see today’s buildings most of them are just created as boxes.

What a joke! If Cromwell was alive today he would put on trial at The Hague at the ICC for the atrocities he committed against the Irish nation and he should not have a statue to honour him.
