This place is a little gem in the East Bank District. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, I adore the walls that have been written on by years and years of customers. The place has charm and character for sure. The service was amazing and we felt taken care of the entire time. Of course, most importantly, the food was excellent!! My husband enjoyed the dinner special and I had the Ravioli Michele. Lastly, for dessert, we got the tiramisu. It was absolutely incredible, I could’ve shamelessly eaten 10 portions of it. I definitely recommend this place for a sweet date night.

Not very good. The mixed vegetables were served well before the entree sitting in oil and covered with and excessive amount of salty lemon pepper seasoning. The server was oddly non-chalant and wasn't very attentive. The food took a very long time to come out and when it did it just wasn't very good. I got the chicken Paradiso and the strongest flavor I tasted was the grill on the chicken. Don't look up if you visit the bathroom. Best thing I can hope for after that meal is that I don't get sick.

We haven't done L'Italiano in a while. Apparently we've been missing out. Located along barksdale boulevard in the newly emerging East Bank entertainment area this restaurant is a high class alternative to bar food type dining.

We were greeted and seated promptly upon our arrival and chose the crab claws for our appetizer. This is probably the first time we've ever had warm crab claws but it won't be the last. The marinade was amazing and the crab claws were so tender they just melted as you ate them. Of course we used some of the complementary sliced hot bread to soak up the remaining marinade.

Normally on our entrees we are a little more adventurous than we were tonight but it has been so long since we had the tortellini Aurora that we had to go for it. It certainly didn't disappoint, great flavor great taste and just the right size portion to allow us a small carry home for a good reminder of a great dinner.

We were here on a Monday night celebrating a birthday but the restaurant was hopping and the staff was hopping with it, still the service was excellent. They were available when they were needed and nowhere around when we were busy with our conversation. Perfect, absolutely wonderful birthday evening!

Service was horrible. Waited over an 1:45 min for food. Got the shrimp fettuccine with shrimp and broccoli. Shrimp were rubbery, over cooked and tasted frozen, broccoli was half cooked and tasted half frozen. No real flavor to anything. Other people were complaining about the wait time for there food over an hour and they walked out without there food. The manager was going out the door yelling at them. When the manager came and asked us what was wrong when when complained to the waiter. He got an attitude saying he had tasted our food and it was fine and that just because we didn't like his food that was our problem when we said it wasn't worth $92.00. Then he kept yelling at us "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus". Then he charged our card and threw it as us saying "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.". By then we had enough and told him to keep on and we would make sure people we knew would never eat here and if he kept throwing there was going to be serious issue. DO NOT EAT HERE OR SUPPPRT THIS RUDE ESTABLISHMENT. The only thing good here was the bread. There are better Italian places to eat for the prices they are charging for lack luster food.

We tried this restaurant on a Thursday evening. Looks nice on the outside and as you walk in you will see a the dining area on the right, and some guy playing Magic the Gathering ccg on the left. As we sat in the very back of what felt like a cramped dining space, we were greeted by our waiter fairly quickly. I inquired about their beer selection, they only had two; I think Coors & Michelob Ultra. The wine was about $8 a glass. So I ended up oredering a Dr. Pepper, which came out in a glass & in a small bottle that it came in; I'd take this over fountain drinks any day. Our waiter was great, very attentive even though he was sweating like he was running a marathon. Our bread was fresh and delicious. My wife had ordered some smoked salmon as an appetizer, that ended up coming out after our entrées. But she enjoyed the salmon. Her entrée was shrimp on top of spinach, this dish was pretty good. I ordered cheese stuffed tortellini with a tomato based meat sauce. The meat sauce was good but the tortellini was bland, I forgot they were suppose to be stuffed with cheese as it was flavorless. A friend of mine had ordered their special, which was some fish with a side of spaghetti. He enjoyed the fish but when he got his small side of spaghetti to go he added some meat sauce to it. The amount of sauce is probably barely one large spoon since it was such a small serving of spaghetti & he was charged $6. I had a large plate of tortellini with far more meat sauce & was charged the $6, you would think there would be a price difference. The atmosphere was nice, the waiter was good, the food was a hit or miss on somethings, a bit overpriced, imo, but the place maybe worth another visit for a different Italian dish.

I felt a little under dressed when we walked in and looked at the menu. But after looking around at others and at the walls, I felt better. I hated that they sat us next to the host stand. Fried mushrooms were totally burnt but lucky for them, we didnt mind that. Chairs we sat in were uncomfortable. We really enjoyed the food though!

We celebrated a friend’s birthday here last night, but the experience fell short due to poor food and service. I ordered an Aperol Spritz “extra bubbly,” which wasn’t on the menu but the bartender said they could make it. The drink arrived flat, and when I asked for it to be fixed, it came back tasting the same. I later learned it was made with white wine instead of Prosecco, as the bar only had mini bottles, which the bartender claimed would make it a $20 cocktail—despite another drink on the menu including Prosecco.

The service was equally frustrating. Our waiter apologized for the delay, bringing six baskets of bread as we waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, my order was wrong—I got lasagna instead of the clam linguine I had ordered. When they finally brought the linguine, I could tell they used mostly canned clams with 3-4 fresh ones sprinkled in. Despite these issues, no manager checked in to address the slow service, cocktail mishap, or incorrect order.

We were a party of six, and everyone agreed: we won’t be returning.

I have been going here for over 20 years and have always had a good meal. Sadly, my meal was inedible. The fish was dry and hard and even the shrimp on top were inedible. My fellow diner wanted to try it and she agreed it was”tough.” I told my waiter, Lee, and he apologized… but that was all. No replacement, no discount, just bad food and an apology.
