Gary was called for an independent appraisal of a residential property following a recent real estate transaction in which both parties signed. This was to help settle a dispute going forward between the two parties (siblings) in regards to how they proceeded with the selling of their parents' home following their departure. **And to determine what the true actual value of the home was at the time it was listed and agreed upon price. He was very prompt, professional, courteous on the phone as both siblings live out of state. We are still awaiting the appraisal results and although we have no control over the outcome, we valued his responsiveness and sensitivity to this particular hiccup and hope that this will provide healing for the parties involved.

Gary prepared a comprehensive residential appraisal for a divorce client whose wife had obtained a low-ball "opinion of value" from a real estate broker for purposes of trying to buy out my client's interest. I've gotten several property appraisals through the years and look carefully for weaknesses that can be attacked through cross-examination. Gary's appraisal was rock solid: excellent neighborhood comps; conservative, defensible value adjustments; honest and transparent disclosures; and good tips for repairing some of the defects.
