Updating review based on recent visit. Food has improved, I got the rack of ribs and the quality has definitely improved. The bbq sauce was excellent and love their steak fries.

Tastiest beef rib ever! Used to go there often when I was doing PhD at U of I. Today visited after 12 years with my 9 yo. We both enjoyed it! There is no table service but I still like dining in. Friday night special: beef rib!

I have to say that the young man at the register was nice and kind. The one thing I didn’t like is when I asked, to check my order. The young man who presented me with it stated, “ go ahead and check it you think I’m lying.”
Why do we have to make such comments when working within the customer service field. Reason said there’s so much going on these days with the craziness of the world. I as a consumer should not feel pressure or have the feeling not to check my order and just get out of there
. Because I felt so pressured. My mind said keep your mouth closed. And you shouldn’t have to feel that way when you’re making a purchase. Anyways beside that there were side cracks upon name, for he did even know me.( that's something friends do when are little)
Therefore, I rated as I did because I asked for center cut and they slipped some end pieces under the bottom for they are very chewy and hard that’s the reason I don’t like them. Another reason the unwanted comment when I arrived, and when I picked up my order, and not getting what I supposed to get in my order.
Thank you! I’m not looking for a refund I just wish I could have been treated differently.

Back today 9-5-24. Had the 1/2 rack of ribs. Very good, and tender. Mix Sauce was great. Sometimes it's a little off. Not in a bad way. Just not always the same flavor or heat (again, not in a bad way). I noticed my ribs sauce was quite different from the cup on the side. I do understand that heated sauce will be different. But this isn't the first time and I just wanted you to be aware and tell you don't give up on eating there. It. is. good!
Wife wanted a brisket sandwich and enjoyed it. She said she should have gotten the sauce on the side, it sogged out the bread. She'll know for next time.

Been eating here for years. So glad they reopened after the fire. Tastes the same as always, excellent! Had the Thursday pork sandwich and fries special with mix bbq sauce. Oh the memories from when I was a kid. Give it try, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!!

When I say this food is definitely a Mess!! It’s a different Aquired taste..We drive with my mom from Decatur’ she actually had us looking forward to ear here considering we were starving.. but even Starving we didn’t eat that!!!! She spent $40 on a pull pro sandwich that looked like chicken slices or turkey sliced up on a sandwich? Wtf!? it was white!! Is this how white ppl eat Pull Pork? Sliced! Disgusting! I didn’t smell a grill let alone see one! The rib ribs were tough and the sauce had the nerves ti be thick with some type of fake glaze mixed with sour BBQ sauce!! I begged I begged my mom to go back in there! Food hot and all! She wouldn’t so she wasted her money! Thank god not mines!! Service was fast is the only good thing I have to say ?

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I'm from a REALLY small town and I'm not fond of driving in the city. Getting ribs here is my reward to myself for driving in the city ? Hey, that's as good of an excuse as any for this yummy treat. Lol

Great staff! Food is always hot and tastes great! We come over here once a week from Danville to get our fix! 10/10 recommend!
